At St Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School, we believe that developing physical literacy is about much more than just taking part in sport. It means building the motivation, confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding that children need to enjoy being active and to carry those healthy habits with them for life.
We aim to inspire every child to discover the joy of movement and the value of physical activity. Through a wide range of lessons, games and extra-curricular clubs, our children are encouraged to try new activities, grow in confidence and develop their own interests.
From the very beginning of their school journey, our EYFS children explore movement through play, outdoor learning and activities that strengthen their fundamental skills in a fun and engaging way. As they move through school, children have the chance to take part in both friendly and competitive sporting opportunities, including intra-school competitions in KS1 and KS2.
Our vision is to ensure that every child leaves our school with positive experiences of sport and physical activity, equipped with the confidence and skills to enjoy being active throughout their lives.
